Sarentino, 26 July 2023 - In exactly 31 days the starting signal will be given for the anniversary edition of the extreme mountain run along the horseshoe shaped Hufeisen tour in the Sarntal Alps. Trail athletes can "let off steam" to their heart's content on one of the three different routes with a length of 63 km (3550 m elevation), 45 km (2750 m elevation) or 28 km (1880 m elevation).
Exactly ten years ago today, on 26 July 2013, the Südtirol Ultrarace was born. On that day, after a long period of preparation, the starting signal was given for the eagerly awaited first edition. A premiere that ended with the victories of Alexander Rabensteiner from Chiusa and Sarentino born Annemarie Gross who lives in Merano. In subsequent years, the two South Tyrolean trail legends made their mark on the extreme mountain run along the Hufeisen tour in the heart of the Sarntal Alps, and both are still the record winners of the popular event: Rabensteiner won a total of four times, while Gross has three triumphs to his credit.
Ten years later, the very popular trail event, which is known far beyond the country's borders, is still being held. The organising committee, which is still led by Josef Günther Mair and has remained virtually the same, offers three routes this year on the last Saturday in August. There is something for everyone on the 63, 45 or 28 kilometres. What all three routes in the heart of South Tyrol have in common are the fantastic panoramic views of the most beautiful and striking mountains in the country.

"We are looking forward to our anniversary edition, for which we have been working feverishly for weeks. The preparations are in full swing. The nice thing about this tenth anniversary is that very many helpers, as well as most of the sponsors, were involved in all the editions. Together, we have grown into a big Ultrarace family. A huge thank-you to all of them! At the same time, new people have joined us again and again, and their ideas have ensured the constant further development of our trail event," OC President Josef Günther Mair emphasised.
Registrations for the Südtirol Ultrarace 2023 are still open at the official website www.ultrarace.it. Everyone who register within Monday, 31 July will benefit from the reduced entry fee. As of 1 August, prices will increase (20 euros on the 63 km, and 10 euros on the 45 and 28 km).
